How do I cancel my car rental reservation?

 

At National, we offer a few ways to cancel your reservation online. In order to do so, you must know your confirmation number or Emerald Club account login information. Your confirmation number can be found on the reservation confirmation email we sent you when the reservation was made.

If you know your confirmation number or Emerald Club account login information, please use one of the options below for a step by step guide on how to cancel your reservation.

If you do not know your confirmation number or your Emerald Club account login information, you will need to call one of our Customer Service Specialists at 1 (844) 382-6875, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

How to cancel a reservation if you know your confirmation number and are not logged into your Emerald Club account:

1.      Click on “View/Modify” on the left side navigation panel within our homepage.

2.      Enter the first name, last name and confirmation number in the required fields, and then click on “Find Reservation”.

If the information entered is correct and matches our records, you will be directed to the “Reservation Details” page. If the information entered does not match our records, you will receive an error message asking you to try again. In this case, please make sure your first and last name and confirmation number are the same as the confirmation email you received when booking the reservation.

3.      Once on the “Reservation Details” page, click on the “Cancel” link in the top right corner of the page. You will then receive a prompt to confirm the cancellation.

If you wish to cancel the reservation, click on “Yes, cancel” and then you will be directed to the “Reservation Canceled” page, where you will see the cancellation confirmation.

If you wish to keep the reservation, click on “No, do not cancel” and then you will be directed back to the “Reservation Details” page.

 

How to cancel a reservation if you do not know your confirmation number but are logged into your Emerald Club account:

1.      Once you have logged into your Emerald Club account, click on “View/Modify” on the left side navigation panel.

2.      Once on the “View-Modify-Cancel Reservation” page, you will see your upcoming trips listed.

Click on the “View/Modify” link within the trip details of the reservation you would like to cancel. You will then be directed to the “Reservation Details” page.

3.      Once on the “Reservation Details” page, click on the “Cancel” link on the top right corner of the page. You will then receive a prompt to confirm the cancellation.

If you wish to cancel the reservation, click on “Yes, cancel” and then you will be directed to the “Reservation Canceled” page, where you will see the cancellation confirmation.

If you wish to keep the reservation, click on “No, do not cancel” and then you will be directed back to the “Reservation Details” page.
