Jump in your rental car and head 20 minutes east of the city to Revival, one of three Atlanta-area restaurants by James Beard Award nominee and Top Chef alum, Chef Kevin Gillespie. Housed in a renovated Victorian family farmhouse, Revival offers bites straight from the chef’s southern heritage. Feast on classic down-home cuisine inspired by Gillespie’s grandmother, including fried chicken, meatloaf, fried catfish, collard greens and cornbread. Don’t forget the mac and cheese topped with potato chips — just like Kevin’s grandma used to make. The Northside Tavern has been an Atlanta blues landmark for nearly 50 years.
